Leca UK
Used in roof gardens for drainage purposes and for constructing or eliminating slopes, Leca® LWA is a light weight and free draining expanded clay material which allows excess surface water run-off to find its way into the existing drainage or harvesting system. The additional advantage of this loose fill prevents the expense of pre-cut tapers usually required for roofs with slope.
When using Leca® LWA as mass fill above the roof membrane and covered with a simple geotextile separator, the green roof can be completed using gravel, paving or soil/Leca® mix which is deal for planting. The use of Leca® LWA as the main substrate or mixed with organic compost will not only be lighter to handle and manoeuvre but will also assist with aerating the root system while maintaining an element of moisture for the vegetation during dry weather periods.
Leca® LWA can be delivered in loose bulk, bulk & small bags or blown in to position to be raked level before the finishing layers are installed.
